Who was Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani

Abdul Qadir Jilani (ra) (also Jilani, Gilani, Gilani, Al-Gilani) was a Sufi sheikh and founder of the Sufi order of Qadiri (Silsila) Gilan. He was born in Nif, a village in the Gilan region of Persia (north of today Iran) in 1077, the father of the Gilanis (RA). Hazrat Abu Salih Musa al Husayni, was of the Sayyid clan, and his mother’s name was Bibi Ummul Khair Fatima.

Many Muslim scholars call Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani Sharif and blood relative of Prophet Muhammad, but such a statement is unlikely and of Persian origin.
