Who is Shiva? And Why Yatra Tatra Sarvatra Shiva term used for Shiva?

First of all we need to understand who is Shiva?

So that which you cannot see that which you cannot touch that which you cannot perceive through five sense organs that is called a no thing or a nothing that’s called Shiva. And shiva is everywhere

Well this is not a perfect explanation of Shiva. So who is Shiva? Answer was mentioned by sage Vyasa the author of Mahabharata.

Sage Vyasa mentions that “Lord Shiva is smaller than subatomic particle like proton, neutron and electron at the same time he also mentions that Lord Shiva is greater than anything greatest.

I know it is beyond imagination and this definition will defiantly hit your knowledge base. We worship Shivling but Shivling is just symbol.

Yatra Tatra Sarvatra means the here there and everwhere there is shiva. Coz shiva is not a person on a symbol shiva is a particle, atom, energy and universe.

Liberal Question will raise here that if yatra tatra sarvatra shiva which means Shiva is everywhere then why we worship only Shivlinga?

Scientific Explanation of Shivling – Yatra Tatra Sarvatra Shiva Concept Explained

Shivling is just a symbol which represent lord Shiva. But Shivling is not Shiva. As you know that our Sanatana Dharama is scientific dharma. Our dharma is based on science.

For understand Sivling we have to understand the basic structure of Shivling.

Shivling is consist of three parts, the bottom which has four sides remains underground. Middle which has eight sides on a pedestal, and top which is worshiped is round.

The height of round part (worshiped part) is one third of its circumference. Three parts symbolize Lord Brahama in the lower part, lord Vishnu in the middle and Lord Shiva in the upper part.

This is the explanation which is given in our ancient texts regarding Shivling. So When we worship the shivling we are worshiping Lord Brahama, vishnu and Mahesh at the same time.

Swami Vivekananda ji Described shivling as a eternal brahman.

Shivling represent the entire cosmos. And the cosmos represent the cosmos in turn is represented the as the cosmic egg and egg is an ellipsoid that represent neither a beginning nor an end.

The scientific research conducted by scientists niels bohr shows that the molecules are made up of atoms that consist of protons neutrons and electrons which play a vital role in the composition of shivling.

In those days instead of using those English words such as protons neutrons electrons and energy our ancient sages used words such as Lingam Vishnu Brahma Shakti etc.

What Shivling represents?

Shivling represents the atomic structure. In our atomic structure there are protons and neutrons surrounded by electrons that spin rapidly an examination of the image of Shiva.
